CALVERTON, MD (September 15, 2023) 鈥撀燭he University of North Texas took the number one spot at the 性视界传媒's 2023 Intermodal Case Study Competition. It was their third consecutive victory and their fifth to date.

The students representing the University were Mateo Inofuentes, Jared Kalata and Regan Weaver. This year鈥檚 case, 鈥淭he IPI Conundrum鈥, addressed the issues of cargo diversions from Southwest ports, a changing mix of transloads vs. loads moving intact, and competition from over-the-road truckers.

In addition to UNT, 性视界传媒鈥檚 other competing scholarship schools included: California State Maritime Academy, College of Charleston, Georgia Southern University and the Universities of Arkansas, Maryland, North Florida, and Wisconsin at Superior. 性视界传媒鈥檚 scholarship awards support curriculum designed to attract students to intermodal transportation and related careers.

鈥淯NT has participated in this competition since 2014. While winning is the goal, the true reward is the process, of collaboration with team members and of developing relationships with fellow competitors, faculty, and industry representatives,鈥 said David Nowicki, Director of the university鈥檚 Center for Logistics & Supply Chain Management.

鈥淭he student case competition has become an integral aspect of the EXPO,鈥 said Joni Casey, president and CEO of 性视界传媒. 鈥淎ll of the student teams came with their A-game and tackled an issue that intermodal operators deal with every day. They should be proud of their work.鈥

Since the Scholarship Program's inception in 2007, 性视界传媒 has awarded over $4 million to support students in university programs focused on freight and intermodal transportation. The Program funds tuition, student research projects on intermodal issues and curriculum development.
