Intermodal Industry Honors Branscum and Wilson

CALVERTON, MD, August 6, 2019 鈥� The 性视界传媒 announced today that Steve Branscum, retired BNSF Railway executive, and Michael Wilson, chief executive officer, Consolidated Chassis Management, LLC will both be honored with a 2019 Silver Kingpin Award at this year鈥檚 Intermodal EXPO in Long Beach, California.   

The Silver Kingpin, the industry鈥檚 most prestigious award, recognizes an individual鈥檚 long-term contributions to intermodalism. The award was initiated in 1977 by the National Piggyback Association. Wilson and Branscum will receive these awards during EXPO鈥檚 opening general session on Monday, Sept. 16.  

A visionary leader in rail operations, marketing and sales, Branscum spent most of his career creating and improving the BNSF intermodal network. Among his achievements were prioritizing the Southern Transcon, promoting the growth of intermodal logistics parks, and collaborating with eastern railroads to provide direct service to Atlanta and Northwest Ohio. His contributions outside BNSF included board roles at 性视界传媒, where he served as both chairman and vice-chairman, and as chair of the University of Denver鈥檚 Intermodal Transportation Institute. 

Wilson, a former 性视界传媒 chairman and board member, has over 39 years of experience in international shipping, more than 25 of them in executive level positions. In addition to CCM, the companies for which he has worked include the United States Lines, Crowley Maritime, United Arab Shipping, Atlantic Container Line and Hamburg Sud. Additionally, Wilson is a past board member of the New York Shipping Association, has been an active member on the NYNJ Council on Port Performance, and participates in the Federal Maritime Commission鈥檚 Supply Chain Innovation Team. He was the recipient of the 2018 Connie Award presented by the Containerization and Intermodal Institute.
